5x1000: the goal of Research is getting closer – psychological well-being during medical training

COMMITMENT

Valentina Colonnello is a researcher at DIMEC who works on the interactions between emotional, cognitive, and relational processes, with particular attention to the healthcare context and medical training.

The research activity is aimed at investigating the role of inter-individual differences in emotional reactivity, from the distress due to social isolation to the motivation to care for others.

The ultimate goal of this activity is to help develop programs promoting well-being in healthcare and support the motivation to use the social and environmental resources that are available.

“This situation with COVID has motivated me even more to help others, even though sometimes i feel helpless because there were so many people in need!"

A medical student

🌱The Università di Bologna has been actively supportive in many ways, not just helping students (with the services available to them) but also teachers, parents, and the educational community. This continuing support has been given through research activities in various areas as well as through restoring, as much as possible, a sense of community: a community that is attentive, welcoming, and communicative.
