Training in Clinical and Retinal Surgery

DIMEC hereby gives notice that it intends to acquire funding aimed at supporting the educational path in vitreo-retinal surgery of a recently graduated specialist in ophthalmology who wishes to gain the specific competences required in the field of retinal pathologies, with a primary interest in surgery.

The candidate will be supported in their clinical and surgical training by Prof. Luigi Fontana and other members of the team at U.O. Universitaria dell'Ospedale S. Orsola-Malpighi.

The training includes the theoretical content listed below, favoring the methodology that is considered fundamental for the practical application of vitreo-retinal surgical techniques.

• rhegmatogenous retinal detachment
• proliferating diabetic retinopathy
• epiretinal membranes
• macular holes
• complications of vitreo-retinal surgery
